Absolutely Fabulous

It’s been an “interesting” few weeks.  We’re pretty much at the tail end of the expansion now, and combined with it being summer and people wanting to go outside and look at the sun while it lasts, things are slowing down in Azeroth.  For Calli, the only real milestone left is chasing the Glory of the Icecrown Raider 25 Man achievement and the lovely mount that goes with it.  At the end of the last raid week, she was 1 achievement, Neck Deep In Vile, away from getting it.  So it was with bated breath that on Sunday night, we faced The Lich King and began the fight.  For at least half of the raiders present this was the big one.  And then just as the Valkyr Shadowguard were summoned, Calli disconnected.  And stayed disconnected until all I could hear on Teamspeak were the whoops of joy as everyone congratulated everyone else on their new Frostbrood Vanquishers and then the game allowed me to log back on.

I was not best pleased.

Well, there’s always next week.  The end of an expansion is a funny old time, though.  We’ve done pretty much everything other than Lich King 25 Heroic and I’m not crazy enough to even consider trying that!  So it falls to me to find other ways to entertain myself.  With waning interest in Icecrown thinning the ranks of our raid groups, two of our 10 man raid teams have combined with the single aim of farming Frostbrood mounts, and Gorn is now two or three achievements  away from getting the 10 man version of the mount that Calli was stiffed out of on Sunday.  There’s a good chance he’s even going to get it before her!

Gorn and Calli share something else in common, too.  A desire to be seen in the most fetching armour/tabard combos.  Here you can see Calli modelling Mage Tier 10 with the Ogri’la exalted tabard, a combination that matches so well you’d think they’d been designed together.  The Ogri’la tabard is not something the sartorially aware would normally consider wearing, but since Mage Tier 10 looks like a Warlock vomited over it anyway, it’s a pretty good match.

And here we can see Gorn modelling the 10 man heroic Scalpel-Sharpening Shoulderguards with the Throatrender Handguards and Blade Scored Carapace.  All of which is set off with the ultimate in panache and style by the very fetching Darnassus Tabard.  The Aldor or Gnomeregan Tabards work equally well.

What you mean, tabard on back to front?

Yes, okay, I’m getting bored.  Hey, there’s always trade chat to keep us entertained when we’re not in The Barrens.  This particular gem was actually witty and funny so it stood out in /trade by about a mile.

I lol'd.

My apologies to Sweden, but it was funny and it’s about time Norway had their revenge for your marketing The Life of Brian in the Seventies as: “The movie so funny they banned it in Norway.”

  1. Jong says:

bummer. hope you get it next week!

    Why isn’t calli gnome anymore?

  2. Calli says:

It’s weird, they say you should be careful of what you wish for because you might get it and now I know what they meant. Calli had been human for so long that I just couldn’t get used to being a gnome, despite having wished for it since forever. I enjoyed my brief dabble in gnomedom but Calli’s a human and always will be. Besides, The Mighty Jingles is more than enough gnome for one person to handle.

Oh, and about the Drake, more news to follow…
